Fifth Grade Will Attend Outdoor Science School

November 2018

Dear LACOSS Parents,

As you know the recent wildfire in Malibu destroyed Camp Hess Kramer, the site of our outdoor science camp. The LA County Office of Education, who arranges outdoor science school for hundreds of schools throughout Los Angeles has been in contact with us as they put the program back together.

We have been assured that we will be going to science camp this year!

LACOSS is making arrangements to send us to one of two other sites: Colby Ranch in the mountains above La Canada, Flintridge or Wrightwood, in the San Gabriel Mountains in San Bernardino County. They are trying to honor the week we reserved in April. More information will be coming as they work out details.

The important message is: There will be Science Camp for our fifth graders this year.

I am rescheduling the due date for deposits to Friday, January 11th. In addition The deposit amount is now lowered to $50.  Deposits can be made at any time. All deposits and payments made will be fully refunded in the event science school is cancelled. We will continue to schedule fundraising events.

Please continue to send in the deposit to reserve a place at science camp for your child.

Thank you,

L. Atencio, J. Lai, K. Quintero, S. Slaven
