Weekly Message 4/30 - 5/4

Hello Room 24 Parents and Students,
Our field trip to the San Gabriel Mission and Olvera Street was a lot of fun and very interesting. It's always amazing to stand in the center of so much history! Our class was extremely polite and respectful, and they really made me proud. Thank you to Xavier's mom, Jacob D.'s mom, Ray's mom, Juan's uncle, Fernando's mom and grandma, Katelyn's mom, Valerie's mom, and Matthew B.'s family for keeping such a good eye on our students and ensuring their safety.
Thank you to our students for presenting their poetry to our class last week. Everyone was nervous about presenting, but did so beautifully. It was good to hear such a variety of poetry.
This week we will be spending a lot of time on test prep and skill review in the mornings, and focusing on the Gold Rush and learning about volcanoes in the afternoons. We no longer have vocabulary, as we have made our way through all of our lists for the year. We will have math homework on paper this week, as we are using a test prep booklet that is part of our math program.
